The ever popular Maxis Football Manager on ESPNSTAR.COM has given fantasy football fans a shot at winning one of the region’s most lucrative prize pots with US$50,000 in cash prizes up for grabs.
The Maxis Football Manager fantasy competition looks to reward the most enthusiastic and well-informed football fans across Asia* for their passion and their knowledge of the Barclays Premier League. Based on the 2011-12 English Premier League season, participant’s teams will receive points for the real life performance of the players from the current BPL 2011/2012 season, and the game will run through to the final matches played on 13th May 2012.
Participants will receive a budget to create their own fantasy football team of players from the 20 league teams, and football fans can join at any point throughout the competition and will begin to score points once their team is submitted.
Football fans can look to get an edge with expert tips on Scorecast every weekend before the live matches, where Andy Penders will provide recommendations on his show so fans can make informed decisions on the best players to sign.
For the ‘Overall Season’, the highest scoring managers at the end of the competition will win:
• First Place - US$20,000
• Second Place - US$5,000
• Third Place - US$3,000
In addition to the season-long competition, Maxis Football Manager also allows fans to compete for various prizes throughout the season such the monthly prize of US$1,000 for the highest scoring team; the FA Cup-inspired ‘Knock Out Cup’ prize of US$2,500 and the ‘League of League Champions’ top prize of US$6,000 for the highest-scoring Mini League at the end of the competition.
